How Does It Work?

Carpet at Cost is alot like buying from a retailer except there’s fewer problems and it’s less expensive. There's not any salesmen on commission either. Other than that, it’s just like retail.

How does the Retail Experience Work?

With the retail experience, you just go to their store, pick it out and pay for it. Then their salesman comes and measures, and then their installer comes and lays it, right? If you and the salesman made a good plan and the salesman relayed all the right information to the installer and the installer was paying attention then the installation would go as planned. But with all the potential for communication failure it’s no wonder there’s so much installation error. I’ve fixed over a thousand retail installations and I can tell you that once a problem occurs, it’s very hard to get it resolved. You might end up like a lot people who got caught holding the bag.

How does Carpet At Cost Work?

With Carpet at Cost, you still go to the store and pick it out, but you don’t buy it then. You let the installer come look at first to make sure it will work in your home. He’ll do the measurements and work out a plan with you. It’s just you and him. If he says it’s a GO, then we get the material ordered for you. Neither I nor the installer profit from the sale of the material. People can’t believe it, but it's true. You really do get Carpet at Cost with my service. In fact, you can get any flooring you want at cost. When it arrives, you get that same installer to do the work. This way, communication problems are eliminated. You will pay him directly for his services. I don't get a dime of his money.  But before you pay, you will have some time to inspect the job so everybody is happy. With Carpet at Cost it's impossible for you to end up holding the bag.

With my service, you get Specialists to help you every step of the way.

With my service, Selection is easy. You get all the practical advise I’ve accumulated over the years from dealing with people and their installation related problems. My service helps you prevent most of these problems before they happen. With my service, you can go anywhere to pick out your material. You can go right down the street to your local retailer or you can go to one of my wholesalers. I have memberships with a bunch of Wholesale stores all over the country. Or you can do both. I don’t care. It’s up to you. You just better love what you pick out because I’m gonna teach you how to make it last a long time. Check out the samples you like, bring them home and give me a call. It’s that easy.

All of the installers I recommend have agreed to deliver your samples to my nearest Wholesaler and let their matching Specialists match it best they can. They‘ll call you to confirm the match. If they can’t match it, they’ll tell you. In many cases, it’s better to just go directly to my Wholesaler from the beginning of your selection process. They have a huge selection. That’s how we get such great prices.

The Wholesalers aren’t set up to sell directly to the public. They sell to us contractors and such who provide flooring services to their customers. So once your material is matched, I’ll have to place the order for you. (check/VISA/Mastercard).

When your material arrives, the installer will bring it your house and install it as planned. You’ll be there waiting!

I teach you all about getting a top installation. Your installer will love you because you’ll be knowledgeable about his trade and focused on getting it done right. Retailers always get into their installers' pockets but with my service, the installer gets all the installation money. Why shouldn't he? He did the work. He earned the money. He gets the install money. And you get accountability.

One big difference between me and the retailers is what happens after the sale. With the Retailer, 'they’re done with you' once they get your money. So, naturally, they’re motivated to get as much money out of you as they can at the time of the sale. With my service, I’m motivated to save you as much money as possible at the time of the sale, so you're motivated to remember me when it comes to clean it. That’s when I get to make some money.

My service ensures you a great price on material and a top installation, but the first spill is when you’re gonna really appreciate my service.  When you need your first professional cleaning I’ll provide you the name of a cleaning specialist in your area. You get his name, phone number and his photo (so I can be sure you get the guy I recommended). I get a fee for connecting you two. You get a cleaner who uses the safest cleaners if you want; and a guy who rinses. He gets a loyal customer. That’s the deal.

I designed my service to save people from unhappy carpet experiences. It’s easy with Carpet At Cost.

There’s three main things you gotta get right:
1. Selection
2. Installation
3. Care.

I’ve written a small book on each subject. That's just what it takes to get it all out there. It’s all for you.
Once you get your Carpet at Cost, I teach you how to turn over a new leaf so it stays new looking.
I give you the Personal Cleaning Frequency Calculator.  It will help answer that big question, 'how often should I clean?' I’ll also help you solve the biggest problem inside homes today - air pollution.

You can call me anytime you need to.  Just realize that I have my own customers I clean for. I'm usually working in the mornings, (Pacific time).  I also spend a lot of time driving all over the country chasing down cleaning specialists for my Service. But I’ll always make time for you. Email is the best for me.  I promise to answer any question you have, for free, in a timely manner.  Don't be surprised if you receive a response from me at 2AM, my time.

I hope this site guides you through the whole carpet experience without too much hassle. My greatest compliment is when people say, “Joe, you made a big deal out of nothing!”  These are the people who stayed focused and involved. These were the people who kept their cookies in their cupboards and their money in their pockets. These were the squeaky wheels who ended up getting it done their way, the right way.

There’s not many things you can buy these days where the motivation is in taking care of the customer after the sale. But that’s exactly what you get with my service. My entire motivation is to make the buying experience a pleasurable one, so you remember me when it comes time to clean. I'm going on fifty now. I can't wait until I'm sixty and seventy and eighty.  People will be calling and saying, Thanks Joe. You were the guy who helped me make my carpet last all these years.”

I hope you like my service,

Joe Bristor
